Despite King Charles reportedly keeping communication open with Harry, Prince William remains deeply hurt and has made no effort to reconcile. According to royal sources, Charles hopes his sons will eventually mend their relationship, but he also fully trusts William’s judgment in acting to protect the future of the monarchy.
Now, royal biographer Tom Bower suggests that Harry is increasingly alarmed by King Charles’s recent decision involving the disgraced Prince Andrew — a move that could signal serious consequences for Harry and Meghan’s future royal status. Prince Andrew was stripped of both his royal titles and his official “Prince” style, a decision Bower says was an “unbelievable shock” to Harry and one that “changes everything” for the Sussexes.
According to Bower, Harry now fears that Prince William could take the same drastic steps when he becomes King — especially as William is reported to still be “furious” with his brother. “There is nothing Harry can do to reverse the hurt he caused to William and Kate,” Bower stated, adding that William feels deeply betrayed.
The biographer also warned that the Sussexes’ financial situation may leave them tempted to repeat past actions — such as their Netflix series, the Oprah interview, or Harry’s memoir Spare — which brought heavy backlash from the Royal Family. Bower explained: “The Sussexes are on borrowed time. Meghan isn’t making any serious money, nor is Harry. The real threat is they might do something foolish and damaging to the Royal Family.”
If that happens, Bower believes William will not hesitate to act decisively. He claims that the future King will take “ruthless” action if Harry and Meghan cross the line again — even if that means further stripping their royal roles or privileges.
For now, while Harry may have his father’s understanding, Prince William has sent a clear message: There will be no leniency if the Sussexes repeat past mistakes.
