“One fan wrote on X: “That brooch is beautiful, and I also love how the King and Queen chose this photo from their anniversary for their Christmas card. It’s very telling.”

Another remarked, “I must admit, while this card isn’t very ‘Christmasy’ it’s a really lovely shot. They have stuck by each other for a long time. What a beautiful couple.”

On Instagram, one person added: “So proud that Their Majesties have decided to use the photo taken in Rome for this year’s Christmas Card. Happy Christmas and God Save The King!”

A Christmas Filled With Significance

The release of the card comes as King Charles is reportedly intent on making this year’s holiday season especially meaningful.

A royal insider told US Weekly that although the King “prioritises duty,” he is also “a family man who knows his time is precious.”

Charles and Camilla are expected to host the Royal Family at Sandringham on Christmas Day. As is tradition, they will attend the morning service at Mary Magdalene Church, where the King will also record his annual Christmas message.

“Nothing would stop Charles from doing that,” the source said. “He will do everything expected of him and more.”

Despite his weekly treatments, the King has maintained a notably active year, with official visits to Italy, Canada, and Australia. He also welcomed three state visits at Windsor, including one just last week from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
