A PR expert has analysed the reason why Meghan Markle is seemingly treated so differently than Princess Catherine. Meghan, 44, and Prince Harry, 41, were pictured arriving arm-in-arm to Kris Jenner’s 007-themed birthday party last month – with PR expert Rhea Freeman stating that this type of appearance shows the stark differences between the two royal wives.
As well as her appearance at the star-studded event, which took place during Remembrance weekend, Meghan was also featured in an interview with Harpers Bazaar just days later. The PR expert then questioned whether it would be interesting to see the reaction to such publicity if it were Catherine. Speaking of Meghan and her sister-in-law, Ms Freeman told the Express that it is purely because Prince William and his wife appear “more human and relatable” as opposed to Meghan and Harry.
She said: “The recent cover shoot and the Kardashian/Jenner news attracted a lot of coverage – and I often it’s interesting that if Catherine had done the same thing, the story would be different.
“The Prince and Princess of Wales continue to grow in the hearts of, well, everyone – and I feel that them both being more human and relatable in front of the camera and on outings has done this.”
She added: “With Catherine’s cancer journey, and William being open about this too, many people have warmed to them on a human level.
“Meghan and Harry, on the other hand, don’t seem to share their human side, which makes it a lot harder for people to feel a connection to them.”
Speaking about Meghan’s Kardashian/Jenner appearance, she added: “The Kardashian/Jenner post, it’s been widely reported that the couple asked for the image to be removed due to the timing of it.
“I don’t think this shows that Hollywood is dumping them – quite the opposite- the fact they were invited and attended such a big event argues the opposite point – maybe they’re fully leaning into the Hollywood side of life…”
Amid the royal feud, it has recently been reported that Catherine is ready for “the healing to begin” with Meghan in order for their husbands to reconcile.
