The Duchess of Sussex revealed that she and Harry are executive producing their first full-length feature film, a documentary centred on Girl Scouts selling cookies.
A personal project for Meghan Markle
The documentary, titled Cookie Queens, is being produced through the couple’s media company, Archewell Productions, which is part of the team bringing the film to the Sundance Film Festival.
Meghan shared the news on Instagram alongside a previously unseen childhood photograph of herself with her mother, Doria Ragland. She explained that the project holds special meaning for her, as she was once a Girl Scout and her mother served as her troop leader.

The nostalgic image, captioned “full circle,” shows a young Meghan posing with her mum and fellow troop members in Los Angeles.
“As a former Girl Scout myself, with my mom as my troop leader, I have a personal affinity for this film and am proud that all our conversations and collaboration have led to Archewell Productions partnering with this award-winning team to executive produce this incredibly captivating documentary,” Meghan said in an interview with Deadline, which she also shared on Instagram.
She added: “When we first viewed the early footage of this documentary, it was immediately something we wanted to be involved in.
“The creative point of view, the edgy yet humanising tone and tenor of the directing, and the glimpse behind-the-scenes into such a nostalgic and also modern tradition of Girl Scout cookie season are absolutely irresistible.”
Inside the documentary Cookie Queens
Cookie Queens follows four girls aged between five and twelve, along with their families, as they navigate the intense and emotional experience of the annual Girl Scout cookie-selling season.
According to the film’s description, the feature is “captivating, candid, and full of heart.”
“For these Girl Scouts, selling cookies isn’t just about Thin Mints and sisterhood – it’s a crash course in entrepreneurship. Behind the smiles and cookie boxes lie real pressure: long hours, ambitious sales goals, and the weight of high expectations.

“Nahmias crafts a bold, vibrant, observational portrait that honours the girls’ perspectives and illuminates the emotional and intellectual stakes of their experiences.”
Directed by Alysa Nahmias, the documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at both the joy and challenges of a tradition that blends nostalgia with modern ambition.
A new milestone for Archewell Productions
Archewell Productions has partnered with Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films on Cookie Queens, which will screen in Sundance’s Family Matinee section early next year.
While Harry and Meghan have previously executive produced several projects — including their Netflix documentary chronicling their departure from royal life, Harry’s Polo series, and Meghan’s lifestyle programme With Love, Meghan — this marks their first full-length feature film.
The project represents a new chapter for the couple’s growing portfolio in film and documentary storytelling.
