Meghan Markle has shared a brand new family photo to mark the Christmas season, offering a rare and touching glimpse into life at home with Prince Harry and their two children. The image shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex alongside six year old Prince Archie and four year old Princess Lilibet, captured in a warm and intimate moment.
Meghan kept the caption simple and festive, writing, “Happy Holidays! From our family to yours.” In the photograph, she is wearing a flowing white dress and is seen holding hands with Lilibet. As has become their custom, their daughter’s face is not visible. Archie, meanwhile, is wrapped in a hug with his father, while Harry gently cradles his son’s face. Harry is dressed casually in blue jeans and a smart shirt, giving the image a relaxed and natural feel.
The photo was shared on December 19 and quickly drew attention from royal watchers and fans alike, many of whom commented on how affectionate and low key the family appeared.
A second festive image in one day

This image is the second Christmas themed photo the Sussexes have released on the same day. It remains unclear whether the newly shared family picture is meant to be a second official Christmas card or simply a festive snapshot Meghan decided to post on social media.
What is certain is that Harry and Meghan have made a point of releasing an official Christmas card every year since their marriage in 2018. That tradition continued earlier in the day, although this year’s official card looked quite different from those of previous years.
Instead of a single still image, the couple opted to share a short video clip as their official 2025 Christmas card. The video was posted on their charity’s website and featured highlights from their year.
A year of family and philanthropy

The festive video included scenes of Harry and Meghan carrying out humanitarian work, alongside moments with Archie and Lilibet. One particularly heartwarming segment showed the children joining their parents on a surprise visit to help prepare meals for the local community. The outing was part of Archewell’s partnership with Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles, and viewers could see Archie and Lilibet helping with food preparation and pushing trolleys.
The message accompanying the video read, “On behalf of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Archewell, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year.”
The release of the Christmas card came shortly after another announcement from the couple. Their charitable organisation, previously known as the Archewell Foundation, has been renamed Archewell Philanthropies to mark five years since its creation.
Founded after Harry and Meghan stepped back from senior royal duties and relocated to Los Angeles in 2020, Archewell has focused on a wide range of causes. Over the past year, the organisation has worked on promoting safer digital spaces, responsible development of artificial intelligence, and providing support for children affected by conflict in Gaza and Ukraine.
In a statement shared with People, the organisation explained that the name change reflects a new chapter. It said the shift allows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to expand their global philanthropic efforts as a family, while remaining grounded in the same values, partnerships and commitment to making a positive impact.
Together, the new family photo, festive video and charity update paint a picture of a Christmas season focused on togetherness, reflection and giving back.
