Meghan Markle and Prince Harry marked the holiday season by releasing a video featuring their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, paired with a seasonal message.

A Year in Review with Archewell

The video, released on Friday, Dec. 19, includes moments from the couple’s work with Archewell throughout this year and previous years, and was shared together with a holiday greeting.

“On behalf of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Archewell, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year,” the message read.

Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, made an appearance in the video during a surprise outing with their parents. The family joined Archewell’s partnership with Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA) to prepare meals for the local community ahead of Thanksgiving.

In the footage, Archie and Lilibet are seen helping to prepare food and pushing a trolley alongside Meghan and Harry.

Archewell’s New Name Marks a Milestone

While the Sussexes have shared holiday greetings on behalf of the Archewell Foundation in recent years, this year’s message came from their newly renamed charitable organization, Archewell Philanthropies. The change was announced on Friday to mark the charity’s fifth anniversary.

The video concluded with the words “Archewell Philanthropies” appearing on screen. Meghan and Harry founded Archewell after stepping back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020.

After releasing the video, Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, also unveiled a holiday card featuring the couple at the Invictus Games. Unlike last year’s card, their children were not included.

In the image, the pair are shown smiling and holding hands during the Games, which took place in Vancouver and Whistler.

Private and Public Christmas Traditions

The Sussexes typically send out two Christmas cards each year. Alongside the public-facing card connected to Archewell, they also send a private card to close family and friends that is not shared publicly.

Archie and Lilibet last appeared on their parents’ holiday card in December 2024. The candid image showed the siblings running toward Harry and Meghan, drawing attention to the red hair they inherited from their father. At the time, it offered a rare glimpse of the children, who had most recently appeared in the couple’s Netflix series Harry & Meghan in 2022.

Holiday Traditions Featured on Netflix

The family’s festive routines are also highlighted in Meghan’s recent Netflix special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration.

In the program, Meghan prepared advent calendars for Archie and Lilibet. The white and red calendars were personalized with their names and included numbered pockets counting down to Christmas.

“I’m writing, ‘I love you because you’re so kind,’ ‘I love you because you’re so brave,’” she said, describing the handwritten notes she created in her signature calligraphy while filling the pockets with small treats and messages.

Sharing Family Moments Online Again

Since returning to Instagram in January 2025, Meghan has shared more glimpses of family life, posting moments of Archie and Lilibet baking cookies, gardening, and spending time with Harry.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE earlier this year, Meghan reflected on how different social media feels compared to when she last used it.

“When I was last on social media, Boomerang was the thing,” the Duchess of Sussex said with a laugh. “Instagram Stories didn’t even exist. So it’s been a minute.”

She also spoke about how meaningful it was for Prince Harry, Archie, and Lilibet to visit her on the set of With Love, Meghan.

“I hope that when they get old enough, they feel really proud that they were part of the beginning of this with me,” she added.
