The Princess of Wales, who bravely revealed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, has given a heartfelt Christmas gift to the very hospital where she received her chemotherapy treatment.
After months of treatment at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital, Kate shared the joyful news earlier this year that her cancer is now in remission. But instead of simply moving on, she chose to give back in a way that touched staff and patients alike.
Last week, The Royal Marsden NHS Trust posted a photo on Instagram showing a stunning, colorful Christmas tree standing proudly inside the hospital. What many didn’t expect was the story behind it.
The tree, the hospital revealed, was personally donated by the Princess of Wales following her emotional Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey earlier this month.

“Thank you to HRH The Princess of Wales… for donating a majestic Christmas tree,” the caption read, adding that the beautifully decorated display now stands at the entrance of the Oak Cancer Centre in Sutton—right where patients and families pass through each day.
But the tree is only part of Kate’s powerful connection to the hospital.
Prince William has been president of The Royal Marsden since 2007, and earlier this year, he and Kate became joint patrons of the NHS Foundation Trust. Shortly after, Kate made a private visit to personally thank staff and comfort patients still fighting cancer.
Speaking to one woman undergoing treatment, Kate reportedly said:
“I’m sorry. I wish there was more I could do… I wanted to come and show my support for those who are going through such a hard time.”
Then came the words that left many emotional:
“There is light at the end of that tunnel… You are in the best of hands.”

Earlier this month, Kate once again showed her unwavering support with a surprise visit to the Ever After Garden—an art installation featuring more than 30,000 glowing white roses created to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
During the visit, she quietly wrote a handwritten note honoring those lost to cancer—another reminder that for Kate Middleton, this fight is deeply personal.
And this Christmas, her message couldn’t be clearer: she hasn’t forgotten where her journey began.
