A Difficult Choice Between Family Loyalties

The eldest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is said to be spending Christmas abroad this year after feeling “tormented” by the decision of choosing between her father and King Charles.

Beatrice, 37, her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 42, and their children were reportedly invited to spend what would be Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s final Christmas at Royal Lodge before they are forced to leave the property.

At the same time, King Charles extended an invitation for Beatrice to celebrate the holidays with the wider Royal Family at Sandringham — without Andrew.

Choosing to Avoid Embarrassment

Caught between the two options, Beatrice is said to have felt “tormented” and “torn between her loyalty” to both her father and the King. As a result, she reportedly chose to spend Christmas overseas in order to “avoid embarrassment.”

According to The Sun, the princess, her husband, and their children are planning to head off on a skiing holiday with friends.

“Beatrice doesn’t want to cause any embarrassment and was torn between loyalty to the King and her parents,” a friend said.

“That is why with Eugenie they went to Buckingham Palace for the pre-Christmas family lunch.

“She appreciates the way the King and William have looked after her during everything that has been happening with Andy and Sarah.”

The source added that it was easier for Beatrice to go away with friends than to appear to be snubbing any member of the Royal Family.

Princess Eugenie Facing the Same Dilemma

It is understood that Princess Eugenie is dealing with a similar situation and may also choose not to spend Christmas with her disgraced parents this year.

Both York sisters attended King Charles’ annual pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace last week.

Other members of the Royal Family present included the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence, and Prince Edward with Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

Andrew and Fergie Under Growing Pressure

King Charles has removed Andrew’s titles and ordered him to vacate Royal Lodge amid renewed scrutiny over his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Sarah Ferguson has also been asked to leave the property, where she has lived for almost 20 years, and is now arranging alternative accommodation.

Despite their parents’ situation, Beatrice and Eugenie have retained their princess titles. Sources close to King Charles have said he is “fond of his nieces” and “doesn’t want them to suffer because of their father’s downfall.”

Renewed Scrutiny from Epstein Files

This week, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson faced further attention after photographs of them appeared in newly released Epstein files from the US Department of Justice.

One image, believed to have been taken at Sandringham during a party hosted by Ghislaine Maxwell, shows Andrew lying across the laps of five women while Maxwell stands in the background.

Another photograph shows Andrew alongside Epstein and Maxwell at Royal Ascot, while two additional images feature Sarah Ferguson with unidentified women.

Earlier this year, Ferguson was also drawn into controversy after a leaked 2011 email surfaced in which she referred to Epstein as her “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.”
