After stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the couple began a new life in the US. Since then, public criticism and a series of professional challenges have kept speculation about their marriage alive. Now, Meghan appears to have put those claims to rest with a clear message suggesting she and Harry remain firmly united.

The Duchess shared her thoughts in a message sent to customers of her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

A New Year’s message with a clear signal

In a New Year’s Eve newsletter, Meghan revealed how she and Harry planned to welcome 2026 together, subtly addressing the rumours in the process.

Her words seemed to directly counter suggestions that their relationship is in trouble.

She wrote: “When the clock strikes midnight, we’ll be celebrating right along with you.

“Glasses raised, bottles of bubbly popping, and confetti in the air – only in our case, it’s Flower Sprinkles falling instead.

“A crisp pour of Brut, a joyful toast and a wish from us to you: may the year ahead be full of good company, memorable nights, and plenty of reasons to celebrate. Cheers, dears!”

The message also included a light-hearted reference to her As Ever flower sprinkles, blending a personal moment with a nod to her growing brand.

Ongoing speculation about their relationship

Talk of trouble in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage is nothing new, though the couple have usually chosen not to respond directly.

Earlier this week, Closer reported that Harry and Meghan have been engaged in “intense” conversations about the possibility of returning to the UK. According to the report, differing views on a move back to Britain have caused friction.

A source claimed: “Their marriage is under strain – not because of a lack of love, but because of opposing fears.

“Harry is begging to come home. He talks about the UK constantly. He knows his father is ill and he feels time slipping away. For him, 2026 feels urgent.

“But Meghan associates the UK with unhappiness, fear and anxiety. She is equally determined not to be rushed back into a country she associates with pain, scrutiny and unfinished business. She doesn’t want to put herself back in that place and feels cross that it’s back on the table.”

There has also been speculation that the couple’s increasingly separate professional paths have added to the rumours. Meghan has focused on rebuilding her Hollywood presence and expanding As Ever, while Harry has scaled back some commitments, including his involvement with the Sentebale charity.

Harry’s previous response to split claims

This is not the first time Prince Harry has addressed talk of a breakup. Last year, he joked about the rumours while appearing at the New York Times DealBook Summit in New York, as Meghan attended a separate event in Beverly Hills.

When asked about their solo appearances, Harry quipped: “Because you invited me, you should have known.”

He then laughed off the divorce speculation, adding: “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”

The remarks followed repeated assertions from the couple that they avoid reading coverage about themselves and do not engage with social media.
