For those needing a refresher, Melania and former US President Donald Trump share one child together, Barron Trump, who was born in 2006 and is now 19 years old.
Donald Trump also has four other children from previous relationships. With his late ex-wife Ivana, he shares Donald Jr., 47, Ivanka, 44, and Eric, 41. He also has a daughter, Tiffany, 32, from his marriage to Marla Maples.
What Sparked the Alleged Dispute
According to Yahoo! Entertainment, sources claim Melania was upset after Eric publicly repeated remarks he said Barron made to former President Joe Biden during Donald Trump’s inauguration back in January.
Earlier this year, Barron went viral shortly before Trump’s inaugural address, a speech in which Trump spent much of the time criticizing Biden, who was seated just a short distance away.
During the event, Barron was seen speaking briefly with Biden. Nearly a year later, Eric addressed the moment publicly, claiming to know what was actually said.
Eric Trump Speaks Out
Appearing on The Megyn Kelly Show last week (14 November), Eric recalled the incident, saying: “Do you remember that whole controversy where [Barron] went up to Biden … and [the media] had all these like lip-reading experts [analyse it], and they’re like, ‘Barron just told Biden to go F himself’?”
He continued: “So one night … I call Barron, I go, ‘Buddy, look, what did you actually say?’ And he goes, you know, like – it was something so polite I almost wouldn’t even get it right – but [something], like, ‘Congratulations and best of luck to you’ – or something like that.”
Eric went on to describe the exchange as “something very respectful,” adding that Barron “doesn’t have that in him.”
“He’s a nice guy,” Eric said. “He’s probably thinking it. He definitely has it up here [motioning to his head], but like, he’s too courteous to actually go out there and say it. Barron’s a really nice kid.”
Melania’s Reported Reaction
Despite the positive tone of Eric’s comments, sources claim Melania was far from pleased that Barron had been discussed publicly.
According to Stylecaster, a source told Rob Shuter’s Substack that the First Lady allegedly told Eric to “shut his mouth” after the interview aired.
The source reportedly added: “Melania does not want Barron discussed. Ever.”
The insider went on to say Melania was “deeply uncomfortable” with Eric’s “trending” remarks about his half-brother and that “she protects that boy like a lioness.”
“He’s in college. He wants a quiet life. Headlines and memes are the last thing she wants for him,” the source allegedly added.
If these reports are accurate, it seems family gatherings at the Trump household could be lively this holiday season.
