Fresh reports suggesting Prince Harry may once again qualify for taxpayer-funded security briefly reignited hopes of a long-awaited royal reunion — including the possibility that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, could finally reconnect with King Charles in the UK.

Royal watchers speculated that improved security could open the door for the Sussex children to meet their grandfather on British soil. At the same time, insiders claim Harry is quietly holding onto another dream: that King Charles might visit his grandchildren in the United States, paving the way for an emotional family reunion.

But that hope has now been brutally shut down.

TV presenter Mark Dolan delivered a scathing warning, insisting that Harry’s strategy is doomed to fail and that the King will not abandon royal duty for sentiment. According to Dolan, Charles is far too committed to his role as monarch to derail an official state visit — even for family.

Sources say Harry is hopeful his father might stop by his Montecito home during a planned US trip marking the 250th anniversary of American independence later this year. One insider told The Sun that despite ongoing tensions, the Duke “has mentioned several times a hope that his father can have a relationship with his grandchildren.”

Dolan, however, was merciless in his assessment.

Speaking to the Daily Express, he branded Harry’s alleged plan to use Archie and Lilibet as “secret weapons” as wildly unrealistic. “It shows just how deluded Harry is if he thinks that Charles is going to interrupt a rather important global tour to the US and make a trip to that mansion in Montecito,” Dolan said. “He’s got another thing coming.”

Doubling down on his criticism, Dolan argued that Harry’s real motivation isn’t his children — but validation.

“He wants Charles to acknowledge him and sprinkle a little bit of that royal stardust over him,” Dolan claimed. “And I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

Shutting down all talk of reconciliation, Dolan added that the idea of Charles going from a brief, “blink-and-you-miss-it” meeting at Clarence House to a full-scale visit to the Sussexes’ California estate was “an act of total desperation.”

The strained relationship between father and son remains painfully clear. Prince Harry and King Charles have not met in person since September last year — a meeting that reportedly lasted less than an hour. Even more striking, the King has not seen Archie and Lilibet since 2022 and has met Lilibet only once.

Royal commentator Jasmine Carey offered a different perspective, suggesting the rift may never truly heal unless Harry brings his children to the UK himself.

Writing for the Daily Express, Carey noted that while Charles is King, he is also “a loving, caring family man.” She added that as a devoted grandfather, being separated from Archie and Lilibet is likely a source of “anguish” for the monarch.

Carey also pointed out that Harry’s security concerns — often cited as the reason for keeping his children away from the UK — could be revisited as his latest security review moves forward.

Although King Charles remains surrounded by grandchildren through Prince William, Carey emphasized that he would “no doubt still be wishing for a relationship with Archie and Lilibet.”

For now, even if tensions between father and son appear to be easing slightly, royal insiders believe a full reconciliation remains unlikely — unless Harry makes a genuine effort to reintegrate his entire family back into the King’s life.

And until then, hopes of a heart-warming royal reunion may remain just that — hopes.
