Reports allege that the Duchess of Sussex is considering the trip but only if strict security and accommodation arrangements are met. Journalist Rob Shuter, writing on his Substack, cited sources claiming Meghan requested exclusive use of several floors at the Hyatt hotel, along with heightened security throughout her stay.
“Staff aren’t allowed to look at her. She’s in total control,” one source told Rob Shuter.
Another insider claimed Meghan expects her formal titles to be used throughout the visit, allegedly insisting on being addressed as “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.”
The reports also suggest she would travel with a large entourage, including a stylist, private chef, makeup artists, assistants, and public relations staff. Additionally, she is said to require constant access to drivers, luxury vehicles, and a police escort from the airport.
Security Disputes Resurface
Security arrangements have long been a point of tension between the Sussexes and the Royal Family. Last year, the couple lost their legal appeal concerning the provision of taxpayer-funded security during visits to the U.K.
Further claims allege that Meghan has requested tightly controlled access points and elevated security measures at all Invictus Games events, including a visible armed presence.
“This isn’t just protection. She’s asking for a fortress,” one insider told Rob Shuter. “Bulletproof glass at the Games, armed security everywhere she goes.”
Meghan Pushes Back Against the Rumors
However, the Duchess is said to be unhappy with these portrayals. Responding to the claims, a source close to Harry and Meghan told the Express, “This is a complete fabrication. Nothing about it is true. No demands like this have ever been made.”
The source insisted that the reports of extravagant or unreasonable requests are entirely unfounded, dismissing them as inaccurate and misleading.
