A Surprise Appearance at Sundance
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made an unexpected appearance in Utah on Sunday, attending the Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City for the premiere of Cookie Queens, an upcoming documentary about Girl Scouts for which they are executive producers.
Speaking to the press, Meghan, 44, reflected on how her own childhood experiences influenced her decision to support the project and addressed whether Lilibet might one day follow a similar path.
Meghan’s Girl Scout Roots
“It really embeds such great values from the get-go,” the former Suits actress told Deadline.
“I was a Girl Scout, my mom was a troop leader, and I think the value of friendship… and self-belief is an integral value that comes with being a Girl Scout.”
When asked if four-year-old Lilibet would join a troop when she is old enough, Meghan shared a thoughtful response.
“I think we’ll continue to explore whatever feels right.
“Working on this project has been incredibly special as parents, as mothers to be able to see something our girls will be able to enjoy and watch as well.”

About Cookie Queens
Cookie Queens follows four Girl Scouts as they compete to become the top seller of the organization’s iconic cookies. The documentary received a two-minute standing ovation at its Sunday premiere, though its wider release date has yet to be announced.
Harry’s Ongoing Legal Battle in the UK
The couple’s joint appearance came shortly after Prince Harry returned from the UK, where he gave evidence in his legal case against Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL).
Harry, 41, is among seven high-profile figures suing ANL over alleged unlawful information gathering, claims the publisher denies. Other claimants include Elton John, David Furnish, Liz Hurley, and Sadie Frost.
Testifying at London’s High Court on Wednesday, Harry became emotional as he described how the alleged actions had made his wife’s life “an absolute misery.” He also called the legal battle a “horrible experience” for his family, adding that he wanted “an apology and some accountability.”

Future Visits to the UK
During his recent trip, Harry did not see his father, King Charles, and it is believed he will not return to the UK until July for the one-year countdown event for the Invictus Games.
Meghan typically attends the event with her husband, though it has not been confirmed whether she will join him this time. If she does, it would mark her first visit to Britain since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.
Their children, Princess Lilibet and six-year-old Prince Archie, have not been back to the UK since June 2022, when the family attended Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
