New royal rumours suggest King Charles is considering a private step toward repairing relations with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Sources claim the King may be preparing an invitation to Balmoral, his Scottish residence, during Harry’s upcoming visit to the United Kingdom linked to Invictus Games preparations.

But while Charles appears open to rebuilding family ties, Prince William reportedly feels very differently. An insider says the Prince of Wales is strongly opposed to welcoming Harry and Meghan back into close family settings so soon.

The source claims William believes old wounds have not healed and worries that bringing the Sussexes into intimate family spaces could stir unresolved tension. In his view, reconciliation should move slowly, not through grand symbolic gestures.

Charles considers opening the door

According to reports, Charles sees the situation through a different lens. He is said to feel that time is precious and that family matters should rise above protocol and past conflict. Offering time at Balmoral would signal trust, forgiveness, and a willingness to move forward.

Balmoral remains the most personal of the royal residences. It is where the family gathers away from formal duties, especially during summer. If Harry and Meghan were invited there, they would likely attend selected family gatherings alongside the Wales family.

Similar reports recently suggested Charles might also consider offering Highgrove House as accommodation during a future visit. Highgrove is described as highly secure, with constant police protection and strong safety measures. This would address the Sussexes’ long stated concerns about security during United Kingdom stays.

However, sources also indicate that during the 2027 Invictus Games events, the couple would still be expected to stay at a hotel in the host city.

Behind these discussions sits the long strained relationship between William and Harry. Since Harry stepped away from royal duties and moved to the United States in 2020, he has publicly shared grievances about royal life. Those revelations deeply affected his bond with his older brother.

Royal author Robert Jobson recently described the situation as two brothers living in different worlds. William is focused on duty and the future of the monarchy. Harry remains tied to past hurt and unresolved bitterness. According to Jobson, reconciliation requires trust, and trust is currently missing.

For now, Charles may be ready to extend an olive branch. But without William’s support, a true family reunion remains uncertain.
