The mystery began when the Sussexes appeared briefly in a series of snaps shared by the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch—only for their image to be quietly removed shortly afterward, triggering a wave of online theories.

Now, the long-running speculation has finally been addressed, thanks to Kris Jenner’s daughter, Kim Kardashian.

Kris celebrated her 70th birthday in November with an extravagant James Bond 007-themed party at her home, attended by an elite guest list that included her daughters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie.

The celebration also welcomed major Hollywood names such as Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Mark Zuckerberg, and Adele.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were among the guests and were spotted enjoying the festivities in one of the photos Kris shared online.

Backlash and Sudden Removal Spark Online Theories

Within minutes of the image going live, Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, were met with intense criticism over their attendance. Around the same time, the photo featuring the couple was removed from Kris Jenner’s profile, prompting widespread speculation about possible tension behind the scenes.

“Probably because they saw H/M getting attacked by hyper obsessed psychos,” one fan suggested.

Another questioned: “Maybe couple asked not to be posted??”

For months, no official explanation followed—until now.

Kim Kardashian Breaks Her Silence

Appearing on Khloe Kardashian’s Khloe in Wonderland podcast this week, Kim Kardashian finally addressed what observers have dubbed ‘Photogate,’ insisting that the situation was far less dramatic than many assumed.

“Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship,” Kim explained.

She went on to describe how, following the Los Angeles celebration, Kris and her team reviewed a selection of professional photographs to decide which ones to share publicly.

The Real Reason Behind the Deleted Photo

“We were told that it was totally cool to post,” Kim continued. “And then after it was posted, I think they realised it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down.

“And then I think they realized, like, ‘Oh, this was so silly.’ ”

Remembrance Day is an annual occasion honoring British service members who lost their lives in the two World Wars. This year, King Charles III led the official ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London.

Kim acknowledged that Harry and Meghan had also attended a Baby2Baby charity gala earlier that evening, noting that it “was fine,” but added that critics might not respond well to images of the couple appearing to be “partying and dancing on the dance floor or whatever.”

“So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day,” she said.

Kim Reflects on the Fallout

Looking back, Kim admitted the entire situation was mishandled and spiraled unnecessarily.

“You got to laugh at, like, the situation sometimes and just, like, lighten it up and be if everyone’s taking it the wrong way, like, lean in. I was like, ‘We should do a full SKIMS campaign.’

“Take the photo – even just us, like, I’ll shoot you at mom, you know, post it and then delete it, like, 30 minutes later. And then I say, ‘Oh, sorry, I didn’t have permission to post those photos for the campaign’.

“If we just made it light and made it funny, you know, I think it would have been, like, received differently, but I hated how that was received for everyone.”

She concluded by addressing the constant scrutiny surrounding the Sussexes.

“That sucks. It was just made into something that was so crazy and ridiculous that just didn’t have to be.”
