The move comes after King Charles III formally stripped his younger brother of his remaining royal titles, a decision linked to continued backlash over Andrew’s association with Jeffrey Epstein and renewed public attention sparked by the posthumous release of Virginia Giuffre’s memoir, Nobody’s Girl.
Giuffre’s book revisits her long-standing allegations that Epstein trafficked her to several powerful men, including claims that Andrew sexually abused her on three occasions, one of which allegedly occurred when she was 17. Andrew has repeatedly denied all accusations.
Leaving Royal Lodge behind

Andrew had lived at Royal Lodge in Windsor for years alongside his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. With the lease now handed back, both Andrew and those employed there were forced to leave the property.
He is expected to move permanently into Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate, located around two miles from King Charles’ Sandringham House. Until renovations are completed, Andrew is staying at Wood Farm Cottage, a more modest residence on the same estate that was once used by Prince Philip.
Sources say the transition has been disruptive not only for Andrew but also for staff who previously worked at Royal Lodge. Many of them reportedly lost their accommodation when the lease ended and were offered significantly smaller housing elsewhere.
A drastic change in daily life

According to sources quoted by The Sun, Andrew is now facing a reality very different from the one he has known all his life. With long-serving household staff no longer in place, he may be forced to carry out basic tasks himself.
“It’s possible for the first time in his life he will have to open the front door to people himself,” one source said, adding that only a skeleton staff is expected to remain.
Another insider claimed that many staff declined to relocate to Sandringham, describing the area as isolated and saying few were willing to continue working for Andrew. Staff on the King’s Norfolk estate have reportedly been told they are under no obligation to serve him if they feel uncomfortable doing so.
“There is already quite a list saying no thanks,” a source said, describing Andrew as a “total pariah” among estate workers.
What happens next
Despite the reported refusals, Andrew is believed to retain a small team, including a valet, a butler, and a chef. However, once he moves permanently into Marsh Farm, he will be responsible for hiring and funding his own staff.
There are also concerns among palace insiders that Andrew may attempt to remain at Wood Farm longer than planned while renovations are completed. He is currently expected to move into Marsh Farm at the start of April.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment when approached.
