On Saturday, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a black-and-white photo of themselves smiling together. The image was taken during an April photo shoot in Anmer, Norfolk.
The couple’s 2025 Christmas card photo also came from the same session, which was captured by photographer Josh Shinner.
They kept the caption brief and sweet: “Happy Valentine’s Day 💕.”
A Look Back at Last Year
The post follows a similar tradition from last year, when Middleton and William shared a rare moment of public affection on social media.
In that image, the Prince of Wales was seen kissing his wife on the cheek — a tender snapshot that stood out for the typically private couple.

Speaking Out About Cancer
This year’s Valentine’s post arrives just weeks after Middleton candidly discussed the emotional toll of her cancer journey before entering remission.
The Princess of Wales recently shared a video of herself visiting cancer patients, accompanied by a heartfelt message.
“On World Cancer Day, my thoughts are with everyone who is facing a cancer diagnosis, undergoing treatment or finding their way through recovery,” she began in a voiceover.
She reflected on how widespread the impact of the disease can be. “Cancer touches so many lives — not only patients, but the families and friends and caregivers who walk beside them.”
“As anyone who has experienced this journey will know, it’s not linear. There are moments of fear and exhaustion. But also moments of strength, kindness, and profound connection.”
Middleton emphasized the need for compassion and reassurance, reminding those affected of “the importance of care, understanding and hope.”
“Please know you are not alone.”
Her Personal Journey
Middleton first revealed in March 2024 that she was undergoing cancer treatment. By September of that year, she announced that she was cancer-free.
“I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she wrote on X at the time. “Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”
She also shared that she was “looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
The princess, who shares Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, with William, returned to official duties in September 2024 after completing preventative chemotherapy.

Finding a “New Normal”
In July 2025, Middleton opened up further about the challenges of life after treatment during a visit to Colchester Hospital in Essex, England.
“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,” she explained.
She described how the transition can feel disorienting. “You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.”
Offering advice from her own experience, the mother of three added: “You have to find your new normal and that takes time…and it’s a roller coaster, it’s not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times.”
