Speculation has grown in recent days that the Duke of Sussex could soon return to the United Kingdom, potentially marking a significant moment in the ongoing efforts to repair his relationship with the royal family.

King Charles May Have Invited Prince Harry to the Commonwealth Service

According to the latest odds released by AceOdds, Prince Harry is considered likely to travel to the UK for the Commonwealth Day service scheduled for March 9.

The annual event remains one of the most important fixtures in the royal calendar. With its emphasis on unity across the Commonwealth, the occasion would offer a symbolic setting for a potential reunion between Prince Harry, King Charles, and other senior members of the royal family.

Current betting odds place Harry’s chances of attending at 4/6, suggesting that preparations could be underway at Buckingham Palace should he decide to make the trip.

Former royal staff member Grant Harrold has also weighed in on the situation, expressing confidence that conversations between the King and his younger son may already be taking place behind the scenes.

Speaking to AceOdds, Harrold explained that there appears to be movement in efforts to repair the strained relationship between father and son.

“We understand that King Charles and Prince Harry are working hard behind the scenes to mend their strained relationship. While there is still a long way to go, it seems that significant progress has been made,” Harrold said.

“Because of that, I believe there is a good chance the King has extended an invitation to Prince Harry to attend Monday’s event.”

A Possible Opportunity for a Public Reunion

Harrold also pointed out that the Commonwealth holds particular meaning for Prince Harry, which could make the service an especially meaningful moment for a return.

“The King knows how important the Commonwealth is to Harry,” he said. “However, whether he ultimately makes the trip is another question.”

According to Harrold, the decision may depend largely on Harry’s existing commitments.

“I think it is likely he would consider coming back, especially if the invitation comes from his father,” he continued. “But it will depend on what else he may have scheduled.”

Still, the former royal aide suggested that the Commonwealth Day service would offer a natural opportunity for a public reunion.

“At some point there will have to be a public moment of reconciliation. An event celebrating the work of the Commonwealth would be an ideal setting for that.”

Meghan Markle May Also Be Considering a Return

There is currently estimated to be around a 60 percent chance that Prince Harry could return to the UK for the service. Some insiders have also claimed that Harry believes he and Meghan could play a positive role in supporting the monarchy during ongoing challenges surrounding Prince Andrew.

Meanwhile, separate reports suggest that Meghan Markle herself may also be considering a future visit to Britain. According to claims shared by journalist Rob Shuter, one insider suggested Meghan wants to show the British public how she has evolved since leaving royal life.

“She wants to show the British public what they threw away,” the source reportedly said. “It’s not anger, it’s confidence.”

Another source suggested that if Meghan does return to the UK, it will happen on her own terms.

“She’s not going back quietly,” the source said. “If she returns, it will be on her terms.”
