The younger daughter of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson has stepped down as patron of Anti-Slavery International, the world’s oldest human rights organisation, after serving in the role for seven years.
Her profile has now been removed from the charity’s official website, confirming the end of the partnership.
Anti-Slavery International confirms departure
In a statement provided to The Observer, the organisation confirmed that Eugenie’s patronage had officially concluded.
Its “patronage from HRH Princess Eugenie of York has come to an end” after seven years, the charity said.
“We thank the Princess very much for her support for Anti-Slavery International,” the statement continued.
“We hope that she continues to work to end slavery for good and deliver freedom for everyone.”
Before her departure, the charity had praised Eugenie’s contributions, highlighting her work “across the board with leaders in the fight against modern slavery.”
The organisation’s other patrons include Dame Judi Dench, broadcaster Julie Etchingham, Baroness Helena Kennedy, Vanita Patel, actor Hugh Quarshie and Baroness Lola Young.
A long-standing commitment to anti-slavery work
Eugenie has been actively involved in campaigning against modern slavery for several years. She is also a co-founder of the Anti-Slavery Collective, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking and exploitation.
There has been no suggestion that Eugenie, her sister Princess Beatrice, or their mother Sarah Ferguson have been involved in any wrongdoing connected to the Epstein case.
However, the charity announcement comes during a turbulent time for the York family.

Fallout from Andrew’s arrest
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office related to his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The controversy intensified following the release of the Epstein files on January 30, which revealed numerous emails exchanged between the former Duke and Duchess of York and Epstein.
Andrew has also faced accusations that he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre, who said she was trafficked by Epstein.
He has consistently denied all allegations against him and has since been released while investigations continue.
Impact on Beatrice and EugenieThe situation has reportedly had a significant emotional impact on Andrew’s daughters.
According to a source speaking to Us Weekly, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were deeply shaken by their father’s arrest.
“Eugenie and Beatrice have had to change their upcoming public-facing plans and future plans this year,” the source said.
The insider added that the sisters were “horrified” by the scandal and concerned that “there could be more to come.”
A second source told the outlet that both women are planning to step back from public engagements for the time being.
“They are not planning on doing any public events in the near future,” the insider said, reflecting the uncertainty surrounding the family as the investigation continues.
