During “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration,” filmed just before the holidays, Prince Harry, 41, made an appearance for a festive dinner—and didn’t hold back a few teasing remarks aimed at his wife.

Harry Joins Meghan in the Kitchen

Walking into the kitchen, Harry announced, “I smell gumbo,” before greeting Meghan with a kiss and introducing himself to that episode’s guest. Markle, 44, was preparing gumbo as a nod to her mother, Doria Ragland, who traditionally made it for their family Christmas.

“Gumbo, for me, is one of my favorites,” Harry said. “Especially her mom’s, but before the fish goes in.”

Meghan shared that her mom “saves a portion on the side” specifically for Harry.

“My mom does the turkey sausage for you, so this one has more kick to it,” she told him. “I’ll give you a little towel. He’s going to sweat.”

Harry first replied, “Wonderful,” but after tasting the dish, he felt the spice hit.

“I can feel it puncturing through the top of my head right now,” he said.

He followed the compliment with a playful dig: “I’m not so sure it’s as good as your mom’s but it’s certainly close.”

Meghan, pretending to be offended, shot him a look.

“My mom will love you for that,” she joked. “What a good thing to say for your mother-in-law.”

A Divisive Netflix Series

The holiday special is part of Markle’s larger Netflix project, “With Love, Meghan,” where she welcomes celebrity friends while showing off her cooking and gardening life in Montecito, California.

Guests in past episodes have included Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, and Mindy Kaling. Despite the star power, the show—now in its second season—has been widely criticized.

Anita Singh of The Telegraph called it “an exercise in narcissism, filled with extravagant brunches, celebrity pals and business plugs.”

Katie Rosseinsky of The Independent gave it a one-star review, describing the series as “queasy and exhausting.”

One viewer on X wrote: “‘With Love, Meghan’ is a masterclass in how to waste Netflix money. What do we get? Her pretending to be relatable, and trades banalities with B-list guests like Mindy Kaling. This isn’t a lifestyle show, it’s a 40 minute infomercial for her ego!”

Meghan Shares a Tradition with Archie and Lilibet

Later in the special, Meghan turned to a sweeter topic: her children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
