Downstairs, faint crying from Sarah and Mia echoed through the walls, making the entire house feel even more tense.

Elise tried again and said, “Grace Walker made you blind to the truth and you are reacting without seeing the full situation.”

Cassian’s voice became colder as he replied, “What I saw on the security cameras is already enough truth for me to act.”

Elise raised her voice slightly and said, “Laura Bennett has turned your daughters against me and you are refusing to see it clearly.”

Cassian interrupted her and said, “I saw Sarah shaking in fear while you stood in front of her without stopping.”

Elise changed her tone and said, “Your wife never understood how to raise children properly and that is why this house became weak.”

The moment Cassian heard those words about Grace Walker, his expression changed completely and he pulled the key from Elise’s hand.

Elise grabbed his arm quickly and said, “Do not open that door because you are making a mistake right now.”

Cassian responded in a low voice, “Your fear right now is the only thing that is telling me the truth.”

He unlocked the door and slowly pushed it open while Ramiro appeared behind them but stayed silent when Cassian raised his hand.

Inside the room, Cassian noticed a strange scent that did not belong in a place that had been sealed for years. The furniture had been moved, and drawers were left open as if someone had recently searched through them.

A suitcase stood near the bed, filled with papers, jewelry, and folders that clearly did not belong there originally.

Cassian walked forward and opened the suitcase with shaking hands. Inside he found a leather notebook that he immediately recognized as Grace Walker’s missing diary.

Elise stood behind him and watched without speaking while Cassian opened the first page. The handwriting belonged to Grace Walker and contained detailed notes about Elise Carter’s repeated presence in the house.

The entries described missing documents, strange financial activity, and repeated visits that Grace had recorded carefully over time.

One page clearly stated that if anything ever happened to Grace Walker, it should not be considered an accident under any circumstances.

Cassian closed his eyes for a moment because the meaning of those words felt too heavy to accept at once.
