Out of guilt towards me, Richard offered to pick me up after get off work every day.

Turned my head to look at the blizzard outside the window, which was falling as heavily as goose feathers, I frowned.

Opened the chat box with Richard, and read the concise and boring chat conversation.

I sent another message, "Can you pick me up on time today?"

After five minutes, Richard replied, "Yes."

But I waited in the company for two hours, but Richard didn't come.

My last colleague asked me after packing up and leaving.

"Ruby, your husband hasn't come yet? My husband took a leave of absence to pick me up, and he's already here.

I shook my head and told her to go quickly and not keep her husband waiting for too long.

I called Richard several times, but he didn't answer any time.

Sent a text message, but no reply.

Such situation occurred is not the first time.

I was not sad. I just took out my blanket for lunch break, slept on the floor in the company to spent the night.

It was not until early the next morning that Richard replied to my message.

"Ruby, something important happened last night. I'll pick you up today."

I replied calmly, "Yeah."

He didn't know that just now, his young intern Jessica updated a post on her Moments.

The picture shows his back, wearing the long down jacket I bought for him, as he concentrates on making a snowman.

The post reads, "Someone braved the heavy snow to celebrate my birthday and built me a huge snowman~"

I immediately understood that the important thing Richard was talking about was.

No wonder he broke his promise.

But he was used to not having any explanation, just like before.

He didn't ask how I got home, or even how I spent the night before.

Of course, if he had come home last night, he would have noticed that I hadn't been back all night.

This also means that he stayed at Jessica's place all night.

I put down my phone, filled the bottle with warm water, and continued massaging my injured leg.

My leg is almost healed.

The day I recover will be the day of our divorce.

As expected, Richard came to pick me up on time that day.

He even arrived half an hour early and waited downstairs at the company.

"Ruby, I'm here. You can see me as soon as you go out."

I didn't reply.

After getting off work, I worked overtime for half an hour and my cell phone rang several times.

I finished all the work before I limped downstairs.
