Hugo felt more restless inside, but he wouldn’t admit he was wrong.

“She did the wrong thing first. I am just upholding justice.”

Yet in the next moment, his friend’s words crushed his shield.

“Brother Hugo, are you sure you’re protecting fairness? How do you know Dorothy didn’t trick you?”

“As far as I know, Dorothy doesn’t look pregnant. Some days ago, she even went to check women’s health issues, because my wife happened to be the doctor who saw her.”

Hugo’s mind buzzed.

He grabbed the phone from the man and asked with a shaking voice, “So you mean Dorothy isn’t pregnant?”

Silence stayed on the other side of the call for a few seconds, then a harsh laugh broke it.

“Pregnant? That's an absolute joke.”

“Do you understand why Dorothy was unable to get pregnant? It was because she had more than ten abortions and had already harmed her body. Even if she cared for herself well later, she could not become pregnant.”
