Instead, he left the scene and told me to pose as a driver. In the end, all the blame was placed on my head and I had to serve seven years in prison for him.
This time, I would not be so foolish to accept his arrangement.
I immediately called nine one one and the police. I calculated the time of their arrival so I could come there after they arrived at the scene. Then, I leisurely called the taxi and headed there.
When I arrived, chaos had already begun. The paramedics were busy trying to save the victim then they ushered him into the ambulance and took him to the hospital. As for the police, they had already secured the scene and processed the place.
Meanwhile, Fred was busy trying to coax my fair lovely best friend, Megan Smith, with his hand around her.
Actually, I felt sick seeing them acting lovey-dovey in front of everyone. However, to erase their suspicion, I had to act stupid.
Putting on a worried expression, I ran toward them and yelled in panic, "Honey, are you all right?"
When he saw me, there was a rage in his eyes. He yelled at me angrily, "I've told you to come immediately! Do you want to see me dead?"
I pretended to be aggravated and wiped away the nonexistent tears. Then with a shaky tone, I said, "After I received your phone, I immediately rushed over here. Unfortunately, on the way here, I got stuck in a traffic jam. I could not do anything about it."
"You damn bitch! I could just …." Fred raised his hand, ready to slap me, but when he saw a traffic police come toward them to take their statement, he put his hand down. Then he told me not to say a word.
As soon as the traffic police arrived in front of us, he covered his nose and asked, "Who drives the car?" Then he signaled to the other police to bring the breathalyzer here.
Megan and Fred looked at each other, but they did not say anything
I decided to strike first, so I immediately said, "Officer, my husband did not do it on purpose. Please, don't arrest him. He is a law-bidding citizen, not a criminal."
Fred whipped his head so fast toward me when he heard my words. His eyes were burning with anger as if he wanted to kill me.
However, I pretended I did not see his angry gaze. To make my acting more believable, I shrunk my body and looked at the police timidly.
The police turned his attention toward Fred and asked, "Were you the one who drove the car?"
