"Then let's go to the store. Try them on one by one until you are satisfied." Matthew reached out to stroke my hair and said in a firm tone, "My wife will definitely be the most beautiful bride!"
"Okay." I nodded slightly, pretending to be happy.
Matthew frowned, turned my face to look at him, and asked worriedly, "What's wrong with you, Rosalia?"
Just as I was about to speak, Matthew's cell phone rang again.
Matthew looked grim, saying, "Is there an end? Why didn't I find her so shameless before?"
"Answer it," I said wearily, "Otherwise, she'll keep calling."
Matthew hesitated for a moment before swiping up to answer the phone. He did not speak. As expected, there was cry coming from the other side. Emery cried gently and weakly, and her pain was felt through the phone.
Matthew took a deep breath and showed no mercy. He scolded Emery, "How many times do I have to fucking tell you that I'm getting married? Don't disturb me again!"
Emery stopped crying and became sadder. She sobbed and said, "Why? Matthew, we loved each other so deeply before. Why did you abandon me and marry someone else?"
I frowned. Sometimes, I suspected that Emery had forgotten what had happened over three years. Three years ago, Matthew loved her the most, so she couldn't accept that Matthew was with another woman, alleging that Matthew had abandoned her.
Matthew's face twisted for a moment. Then he hung up the phone and turned it off.
Matthew quickly calmed down and coaxed me. "Rosalia, let's rest. Don't let this kind of lunatic affect your mood."
I nodded and lay on the bed. Matthew wrapped his arms around my waist and held me in his arms, making me feel the most secure.
"Go to bed, baby." He kissed my hair gently.
I tried my best to suppress the irritation in my heart and fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, I was awakened by thirst. Sitting up, I found that Matthew wasn't next to me. I touched it and found that it was cold.
I put on my clothes and went out of the room, only to see Matthew smoking on the balcony. The cigarette was flickering in his hands, and he looked lonely. Next to him, it was a vibrating cell phone.
I was despondent at this sight.
"Oh my god. Emery is so shameless! It was she who had abandoned Matthew at the beginning. Now that Matthew is rich, does she regret it? It's too late!"
