"Impossible! I will never let her go if you dare to keep me locked up forever! I will torture her bit by bit and leave her in agony!"
"I" was frantic on the screen, shouting.
Sebastian's face darkened instantly.
"Lyra, Selena saved me. Since you refuse to apologize, prepare to bear the punishment that comes next!"
Sebastian hung up with a stern face.
What other punishment would Sebastian have in store for me? Would it be more painful and more terrifying than the atrocities Selena inflicted upon me?
It was the sixth day after my death.
Sebastian was becoming more absent-minded, even not hearing when Selena called for him several times.
At night, I even saw him suddenly wake up from a dream, sit up, and mutter to himself.
"Lyra, why won't you just give in?
"Selena saved me, and you had her legs crippled. I can't just stand by and do nothing.
"Lyra, if you just admit your mistake, I will forgive you."
I was almost laughing at the side, watching over my own decaying body.
What mistake did I admit? Was it that we shouldn't have adopted Selena and let her live a life of luxury?
Was it wrong for me to expose and resist when Selena staged a kidnapping and feigned disability, pretending to be a savior?
Was it my fault that I didn't willingly endure the abuse and atrocities?
Or was it wrong that I risked my life to save him in the first place?
If that was the case, then I was indeed wrong.
I was wrong for being too naive and blind and for not seeing her true colors.
As I mocked Sebastian's arrogance in my mind, he frowned and suddenly looked up, sniffing the air.
"What's that smell? Where is that stench coming from?"
I jolted with anticipation.
Could it be that my remains were finally going to be discovered after six days?
