After I gave birth to my weak daughter, Jeremy visited me even less. To him, I was nothing but a failure because I only gave birth to a daughter instead of a son who would be able to inherit the pack. While Olivia was being showered with attention non-stop from my husband, the man ignored me as if Marianne and I never existed.

However, Jeremy started to show attention to his daughter as the elders from his council pitied me and our daughter. It all happened when we were having a banquet with the elders, discussing about a possible alliance with the White Fangs Pack.

“I must go to Olivia. She misses me,” he said as he brushed me off coldly.

“You should go then if you want to risk losing an alliance with the White Fangs Pack,” I told him, speaking for the first time since I discovered his affairs with Olivia.

“How dare you talk back like that!” he shouted at me.

But he stopped before he could take things further as the elders watched him with their hawk eyes as if they were trying to warn him. Even though my husband was the Alpha, he still had to respect the elders who helped him bring the Black Ebony Pack to greater glory. So, the man eventually began controlling his behavior around me and paid more attention to Marianne.

It was the very one thing that I could take pride in. I was still the pack’s Luna even if it was on paper only. Olivia might own Jeremy’s heart, but she had no voice. Furthermore, I gave good advice that helped the pack to expand. Hence, the elders favored me slightly.

Frankly, I didn’t really care about the elders. They definitely just wanted to use my daughter as a pawn while pretending to be honorable. Still, I was thankful because the elders advised my estranged husband to create a political marriage for Marianne to save her. At the very least, they still cared enough about my daughter.

In the end, it didn’t matter. My dear Marianne still died. She would no longer come back into this world. At the end of the day, I still lost someone who helped me survive this cruel life.

My hatred toward Jeremy, Olivia, and those nobles became so intense that my wolf couldn’t stop howling. They were all monsters that would pay the price no matter what, especially Jeremy. I already made up my mind to one goal. I wanted that man to suffer as badly as me.
