Siena walked to one of the surgical carts, looking exaggeratedly sad.
"Mr. Doyle, thank you for everything you donated for my brother. He will be grateful to you for the rest of his life."
“Don't worry, I will arrange the best crematorium for you. When the ashes are formed, I will put them together with Mrs. Doyle's before scattering them into the sea.
"Get out of here. Leave me alone." I kicked one of the bodyguards and finally hit his vital spot in the next second, gaining my freedom.
I pushed Siena away and stood in front of the operating table, my chest heaving violently. Then a pang of sour and sweet taste surged in my throat.
"You guys get out of here. I won't let you get near my parents again."
"Don't you want me to fail here?"
"Then just kill me."
"What's going on? Jessa, how are your parents?"
A voice rang out in the noisy corridor suddenly.
I supported my body and turned my head to look back, coincidentally making eye contact with Troy's mother, Kate.
I couldn't hold back the bloody sweetness in my throat anymore. In the end, I spat out blood in one breath.
I was beginning to lose my consciousness.
In a coma, I seemed to hear Kate's words.
"You bastard. You transferred the doctors I had arranged for Jessa's parents. Are you trying to kill them?"
"You even made decisions for her and donated the organs of her biological parents. Are you inhuman?"
"No, how could it be? Siena told me that they were volunteers for donating their bodies that she had found."
Troy widened his eyes with his voice full of disbelief.
My consciousness gradually came back to me. Hearing Troy's voice, I slowly opened my eyes.
In my heart, I had no emotions.
"Jessa, Jessa, you're awake. I'm so sorry. I didn't know it. I didn't know they were your parents."
He trembled and held my hands, but I forcefully shook his hands away.
I felt like I was getting to know him in front of me again.
"So what you mean is this. If it weren't them and if it were someone else, you could dominate their lives like a ruler?"
"No, it's not like that."
Troy, who had been calm and composed, couldn't hold himself back. I wondered if he was feeling guilty.
With no one around, I wondered why he was looking like that.
"Do you remember what day it is today, Troy?"
