Inheriting Millions, Yet Forced to Marry a Simpleton1

I cried my heart out at my grandmother's funeral.

When I saw my parents walking over, I held back my tears.

Just as I was about to tell them about the huge inheritance my grandmother left me, I noticed a man about my age standing next to them.

"Sandra, we're agreed on your marriage to him!"

The man looked idiotic, drooling. At the sight of me, he rushed over to me.

I dodged, but my younger brother's wife, Amy, who was pregnant, immediately became unhappy when she saw this.

"I'm pregnant with your Charter family's grandson. If you don't marry my elder brother, I'll go to the hospital to have an abortion right now!"

"Amy, please don't do this!" My mother looked anxious and hurriedly stopped Amy.

My father glared at me fiercely and spat, "Now you've grown up and don't even want to listen to me and your mother! You must marry Dan."

I gritted my teeth. I finally understood why my grandmother repeatedly told me not to tell my parents about the inheritance before she died.

I couldn't believe my parents were planning to marry me to Amy's retarded elder brother for the sake of their unborn grandson.

"This is my grandmother's funeral. I only want her to rest in peace. If you don't intend to pay your last respects to her, get out of here!"

"Look at how arrogant she's become after studying for a few years more than us!

"Although Dan is not very smart, he is a man of good character!

"He doesn't mind you being old and ugly when you are already 26 years old. I'm afraid you can't find any other man who is willing to marry you."

I ignored the sarcastic shouts behind me.

With a serious face, I dragged myself to look at my grandmother's body.

She was sleeping so peacefully.

There was still a gentle smile on her lips.

But I knew from then on, she could no longer protect me.

I thought my younger brother, Will, would be more sensible after he got married and was about to become a father.

Thus, I called him and told him that I didn't have time to fool around with my parents.

Will apologized guiltily that it was all his fault for not handling his wife well.

He urged me to go home so that he could sincerely apologize to me.

However, I got home and opened the door, only to see Amy and her family sitting there.

My parents had even prepared a hearty meal to entertain them.
