“Yeah,” I accepted. “What matters most is the money to cater for ourselves when we eventually settle as mates.” I said gladly. I was ready to share all I have with him. I wanted to make him forget about the pains my dad has caused him.
“We should even have a joint account against our forthcoming wedding,” he suggested. “As a couple, we ought to share everything, you can bring all your savings together with mine.”
“It's time we stop having separate accounts.” He further added and I nodded with a smile, my eyes full of trust for him.
All went rosy and I sensed a great future for both of us, with our kid. It was a great blessing to have a son, normally I would be worried about where to get money to raise our kid when they grew up but I didn't worry. I'll sponsor us until Louis lands with a good job.
We began planning for our mating ceremony, since I'd saved a lot of money and I was so desperately in love with him, there was no need to delay.
On the morning of our mating ceremony, I woke up feeling blissful after having a sweet romantic dream about us. I turned to tell Louis. The side of my bed empty, I gasped. Then I looked around, the room looked absurd, I checked the time it was 10 AM. I'd never woken up so late before, I wondered what could be wrong.
Then I climbed off the bed.
“Honey, honey, honey.” I began to call Louis but got no response. I also noticed his wardrobe, which was in the bedroom, was open and empty. Most of his valuables were missing, including his phone which was always by the bedside table.
My lips hung loose. Since he didn't reply, I decided to call his real name but still no response. I immediately tried mindlinking but there was no connection, he blocked me.
Gemma’s POV
I became speechless. “This looks strange and absurd,” I cried out to my wolf.
I was about to rush to my phone and call the pack police to report my mate missing when my eyes caught up with a little piece of paper underneath the flower vase on the center table.
I held my chest. “Could this be a suicide note?” I wondered. What could have made him want to commit suicide when I would absolutely take care of everything?
I moved closer and pulled out the paper from the flower vase.
“I've taken my revenge in full. Thanks for all you've done for me. Forget about the money, I've already gotten it. Check your phone. Hahahah.”
