When they finished, she sent him a teasing voice message.

"Why didn’t you come save me? Hmph, I’m mad at you! You better make it up to me!"

He also sent her a voice message, chuckling, "My bad, my bad. Next time."

They then exchanged New Year’s greetings. It was also the time I had sent him my own message, but he simply ignored it.

Instead, he continued chatting with her about their New Year’s plans.

Later, he sent a photo to her with a follow-up message.

[Ugh, spending the holiday all alone. So lonely.]

She quickly responded, [Uncle, if you don’t mind, I can come keep you company?]

At that time, he replied to me, so a few minutes later, he replied to her, [No need, no need. My girlfriend’s here now. Let’s talk later.]

Even now, I was still trying to justify it in my head. Maybe she had sent the message to the wrong person. After all, she called him "uncle"... right?

Just then, the sound of water stopped abruptly and Wilbur stepped out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around his waist.

He was more than just rich—he was tall, good-looking, and had an athletic build. Back in college, he had even competed in swimming tournaments. Girls had always chased after him.

But he had never hidden our relationship. He always made me feel secure.

As he dried his hair, he immediately noticed something was off about me. He walked over, leaned down, and pressed a kiss on my forehead.

"Who upset my baby this time?"

Naomi's POV

I tossed his phone into his chest in response. But he caught it, took a look, and let out a helpless laugh before wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Baby, I haven't had a chance to introduce her to you yet. This is my niece. I use that account to log into my game, so she's the only contact I added. Don't overthink it—we only played together once," he explained.

But I wasn't convinced yet, so I coldly demanded, "And how do you explain the photo?"

Wilbur burst into laughter and playfully tapped the tip of my nose.

"Silly girl, are you really that clueless? She obviously sent it to the wrong person."

He then leaned in with a teasing smile and added, "Besides, Roxanne is our niece. How could you even think that way?"

I gradually wavered and my tension started to ease.

He pressed a kiss against my neck and lightly bit down. "Punishment," he murmured.

"Baby, did you wear this just for me tonight?"
