He Took Me for Granted, Now He's on His KneesChapter 1

Naomi's POV

When my grandmother was seriously ill, my boyfriend of six years, Wilbur Frazier, took the next flight home to be by my side and took care of my grandmother with patience and devotion.

Grandma always said he was the kind of man worth entrusting my future to—successful, kind-hearted, and, most importantly, willing to set aside his pride to take care of me.

I used to believe that, too.

Until I saw the explicit photos another woman had sent him.

——

Wilbur had been living abroad for years. He came from a wealthy family, while I was an orphan who had only my grandmother. Our worlds couldn’t have been more different. But he loved me deeply and cherished me.

When he left for school overseas, we began a long-distance relationship, meeting every two months. Sometimes he flew back, sometimes I went to him.

Two weeks ago, we had planned to meet at a hotel. Standing by the bed, I hesitated as I slipped into the lingerie I had bought just for that night. I wasn’t sure if I had the courage to wear it in front of him.

Girls abroad were so open. I was always afraid that my reserved nature would bore him.

Just then, his phone lit up.

He was in the shower, so I instinctively picked it up.

The message was from someone named "Niece."

[Uncle~ I bought a new outfit. Will you come see it tomorrow night?]

A photo followed immediately after.

Curiosity got the better of me and I clicked on it.

Seeing that this "Niece" was the only friend he had on this account, I believed this was his second one.

Thing about it, my heart pounded. At first, I tried to reason with myself, searching for an innocent explanation. But then I saw the picture.

The girl was in nothing but lingerie. Her face wasn’t visible, only her upper body—one that looked disturbingly underdeveloped.

With trembling hands, I scrolled up through their chat history. He shared nearly everything with her—his daily life, his thoughts... even me.

On the surface, their conversations seemed normal, just friendly banter. But as his girlfriend, I could see the undertones, the moments that felt off.

Like last New Year’s Eve. After work, I deliberately stayed up late just to greet him at exactly midnight. But he didn’t reply for half an hour. Back then, I had assumed he was busy with his family.

But now I knew the truth.

Before midnight, he had been playing video games with her.
