Everyone exchanged mocking glances. They knew this horse was nearly impossible to control and could hurt me.
Just as Sarah was about to refuse, Daniel cut her off.
“Don’t you want to play the game? It’s just a horse—what’s there to be afraid of?”
“Ha! You guys really are daring—what an idea, to play that horse-riding game.”
And so they pushed me onto the horse. It bolted instantly, carrying me off at a dangerous speed.
My face turned pale, and I cried out to Sarah behind me.
“Call the staff! This horse has gone mad!”
But Sarah pretended not to hear. She mounted a white horse and chased after Daniel instead.
“Ha! That broke loser—he’s done for.”
“Daniel drugged the horse with stimulants. If it doesn’t cripple him, it’ll kill him.”
Soon, I was thrown violently to the ground, injuring my leg.
That’s when I realized—the horse had been tampered with.
Clenching my teeth, I dragged my badly injured leg, limping back.
In the distance, on a white horse, I saw two people riding together, bodies pressed close, moving in ways I didn’t want to describe.
I froze in place, my gaze falling in despair.
At that moment, my love for Sarah finally died completely.
When I hobbled back, Sarah and the others had returned.
“Well? Wasn’t the horse-riding game fun?”
“Exciting, wasn’t it?”
“You’re really something, Sarah. To risk your husband’s life for the thrill of a game.”
