Frank and Ivy discussed it briefly before agreeing. Then they all left.
Within five minutes, the house that had been filled with noise and commotion fell completely silent.
I wiped away my tears and packed my belongings.
This house—even if I don't live here anymore—I won't hand it over to these ungrateful bastards. As long as I keep the property deed, they'll never be able to transfer the ownership.
Just then, I got a call from the real estate agent.
“Ma’am,” he said earnestly, “are you really sure you don’t want to sell your house? This buyer is very sincere. Maybe you could think about it again?”
My voice was firm. “Fine, I'll sell. But I want full payment. Meet me at the property registry office at 8 a.m. Monday together.”
There was a brief pause on the other end. “You’re really willing to sell now, ma’am?”
I gave a nod. “But it must be paid in full.”
