In that instant, I couldn’t describe my feelings. I just felt like all the blood in my body had turned cold.

My phone vibrated. It was the investor, ecstatic.

He asked me, “Are you really going to withdraw your investment from Brottier Entertainment and join us? Are you truly willing to give up Daniel Brottier?”

“Daniel’s cash-cow days are over, so I need a new one.”

I suddenly stopped.

“Daniel, don’t do this here.”

I looked in the direction of the voice. Inside the Ferrari, two figures were entangled. I paused for a moment, then grabbed a wooden stick and walked over.

Bang!

The front of the car was smashed to pieces. The disgusting sound finally stopped.

I looked at Emily’s terrified face and let out my first truly satisfying laugh of the night.

“It’s okay, I was worried you’d be hot.”

Emily screamed and burrowed into Daniel’s arms. He stared at me with cold eyes.

“Felicia, what did we talk about tonight?”

“I was apologizing to you! You made that girl cry. What’s wrong with me comforting her?”

I laughed until my tears streamed down my face.

“Daniel, do you need to buy condoms to apologize?”

“She sheds a tear and you’re already taking her to bed? Are you an Oscar-winning actor or a gigolo? What if that bitch bleeds a little? Are you going to wear mourning clothes?”

“Don’t you dare talk about Daniel like that!”

Emily grabbed my hair violently. My scalp felt like it was going to explode.

“Let go!”

I tried to push her away forcefully, but in the next second, Daniel grabbed my wrists from behind.

He looked down at me. “Felicia, you need to be tempered.”

Emily pulled my head, slamming it against the glass repeatedly.

She whispered maliciously in my ear, “Felicia, if I could steal your parents, I could steal your husband.”

My mind felt like it exploded. I pushed myself up with all my strength and slapped Emily so hard across the face.

Slap!

The next moment, my face burned with pain.

Daniel withdrew his hand, his voice hoarse, “You’ve gone too far.”

Looking at that face I’d traced countless times, I felt a terrifying sense of unfamiliarity for the first time.

He hadn’t ignored Emily’s words, but he didn’t care, just as he didn’t care whether they hurt me.

My love for him had been too unconditional, allowing him to act with such reckless abandon.

“Yes, it’s my fault. I apologize.”

I suddenly laughed. Daniel was stunned for a moment; he thought I would cause a scene.

“Felicia, don’t be like this.”
