“We already have a mom.”
Grace added softly,
“We don’t hate her. We just don’t need her.”
Daniel declined the request.
That night, he paused before a family photo—chosen family, not perfect, but real. He checked on the twins, sleeping peacefully in the room they still shared by choice.
