A natural ingredient that you have available in your kitchen is citric acid, i.e. lemon juice. A slightly acidic substance, it has the power to remove limescale without ruining the ceramic, restoring its natural splendor. You can use citric acid alone or combined with other products. Here’s what they are:

  • Citric acid and dishwashing liquid  : Mix a glass of citric acid with 10 ml of dishwashing liquid. Shake the solution well and use it to clean the toilet bowl as you would any other product. The descaling effect of citric acid will remove limescale from the bottom.
  • Citric acid and borax  : Mix one cup of citric acid with two cups of borax. Apply the mixture to the walls of the toilet bowl, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse. The toilet bowl will be free of yellow stains.

Hydrogen peroxide

Another great remedy for whitening your toilet bowl is  hydrogen peroxide  . You probably also have a bottle of this product at home, which you can use to remove yellow stains from your toilet bowl.

You can use 10, 20, 30 or 40 volumes of hydrogen peroxide and it is a natural remedy that has surprising effects to clean the toilet and get rid of the yellowish color that has accumulated at the bottom. The advantage of using this ingredient instead of products with chlorine or bleach is that it does not contaminate and does not produce toxic vapors. Put it in the toilet and  let it sit overnight  , the next morning  scrub with the brush  and then flush the toilet, the bottom will be very clean.
