The International Association of Privacy Professionals Global Summit will take place from March 30 to April 2, bringing together experts, policymakers and advocates to discuss the future of privacy in the digital age. The Duke of Sussex, 41, is listed as one of the headline speakers and will address the impact of the online world on society.

Harry’s appearance comes shortly after his brief trip to the UK earlier this month, where he attended court hearings linked to his ongoing legal battle against the publisher of the Daily Mail over alleged privacy breaches.

What Harry will speak about

According to the IAPP’s official website, Prince Harry will focus on whether today’s digital landscape is helping to connect society or actively pulling it apart.

“In his keynote, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, will share his insights on whether today’s digital world is breaking or bridging society, and the role we can play in reshaping the future,” the listing reads.

The website also describes Harry as a humanitarian, mental health advocate, environmentalist and military combat veteran. His biography highlights his commitment to creating long term positive change, particularly around resilience, healing and community wellbeing.

It also notes that Harry lives in California with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, where the couple continue their philanthropic work through their Archewell foundation.

A long standing focus on online safety

Online safety has been a key pillar of Harry and Meghan’s work since launching Archewell. The couple have repeatedly spoken about the dangers of social media, particularly its impact on mental health, children and vulnerable communities.

Through their foundation, they have supported families affected by online harm and pushed for greater accountability from tech platforms. Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess appeared at a virtual Oprah Daily event hosted by Gayle King to mark the release of An Amazing Generation, a book encouraging children to step back from screens and reconnect with offline life.
