“I raised you,” he continued, looking at Daniel with deep disappointment. “I trusted you. But you chose greed over family.”
Daniel was rushed to the hospital and later taken into custody along with Monica.
The mansion became quiet again.
But Mr. Harrison was no longer lonely.
The next morning he walked slowly through the garden with Ethan, holding the boy’s small hand.
“My grandson,” he said softly, “money means nothing without honesty. You are my greatest treasure. Because of your courage and your good heart, you didn’t just save my life—you protected our family’s honor.”
After that night, Mr. Harrison changed his will.
A large part of his fortune would be used to create a foundation helping neglected children. The rest would eventually belong to Ethan—who would grow up guided by the wisdom and love of the grandfather he had saved.
And in the end, it proved something important.
