An heiress. A force. A woman who had returned from ruin stronger than anyone expected.

“Good evening,” she said calmly.

But her eyes held something far darker than calm.

Across the room, Adrian and Vanessa froze.

“What is she doing here?” Vanessa whispered, her face draining of color.

Victoria looked directly at them.

And smiled.

Slow. Dangerous.

“Today is a special day,” she continued. “Because everything that begins… can also end.”

The room fell silent.

“Three years ago, everything that mattered to me was taken,” she said, her gaze never leaving them. “And today… I’m here to make you answer for it.”

Adrian clenched his jaw.

“You have nothing,” he said sharply. “No proof.”

Victoria tilted her head slightly.

“Are you sure?”

She lifted her hand.

Behind her, the giant screen flickered to life.

Adrian’s face changed instantly.

Vanessa stumbled backward.

“No… that’s not possible…”

Victoria stepped forward.

“This is only the beginning.”

But before anything more could unfold—

The doors burst open.

A man rushed inside, breathless.

“Miss Hale—there’s something urgent!”

Victoria frowned.

“What is it?”

The man hesitated.

“One of the children… might still be alive.”

Everything stopped.

Victoria’s heart seemed to skip.

“What did you say?”

“Not all of them died…”

Silence swallowed the room.

And for the first time in three years…

Something other than anger appeared in her eyes.

Hope.

And fear.

Because if one child survived…

Then someone had hidden the truth.

And the betrayal ran deeper than she ever imagined.

No one spoke.

Victoria felt her strength falter—but she stayed standing.

“Where is he?” she asked, her voice steady despite everything. “Tell me.”

The man glanced nervously around.

“I can’t explain here…”

She stepped closer, her gaze cutting through him.

“You will.”

He swallowed.

“A private hospital… north side of the city. But it’s guarded.”

“By who?”

He didn’t answer.

He didn’t need to.

Victoria slowly turned toward Vanessa.

Vanessa stepped back immediately.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about—”

Victoria smiled again, colder this time.

“You were never good at lying.”

That same night…

The rain returned.

Just like before.

Victoria stepped out of a black car in front of the hospital.

“Stay here,” she told her driver.

“Miss, it could be dangerous—”

“That’s the point.”

She walked inside.

The hallways were too quiet. Too clean. Too controlled.

Then two men stepped in front of her.

“You can’t go any further.”
