But none of that mattered anymore.She didn’t want him anymore.How he lived had nothing to do with her.
Wendy looked at Jack quietly,waiting for his answer.For the first time,Jack who was always gentle looked cold.
“Wendy,you’ve been making trouble for two years.Do you really want the divorce?”
Her answer was firm.“Absolutely.”
Jack suddenly smiled with sarcasm.“Fine.I’ll grant your wish.”
Soon,Jack took her to City Hall.He took out their ID cards and went it and quickly get out of the building.Each of them was holding a Divorce Cooling-Off Notice.
The staff explained,“There is a 30-day cooling-off period.After 30 days,the divorce becomes official.”
As soon as they walked outside,Jack said,“I’ve already gone through the process with you.Don’t keep talking about divorce.Even I get tired of hearing it.”
Then his phone rang.It was Tiara.She said she felt unwell.Her illness seemed to be acting up again.
Jack didn’t hesitate to go into his car and drove away.The car exhaust snapped Wendy back to reality and made her laugh quietly.
In Jack’s eyes,she was just being emotional.He thought this marriage could never end.But oh,he was so wrong.This divorce,it was something that Wendy was determined to get.
To avoid later trouble,Wendy didn’t return to their home that night.She stayed at a hotel and booked a flight out of New Metro for the next day.
Early the next morning,she went to the airport.
As soon as she arrived,she received a message from Jack:[There’s going to be an auction tonight.Get ready.]
She didn’t reply.In thirty minutes,she could board the plane.She would finally leave this cruel city.
Just as she boarded and the plane was about to take off,the cabin door suddenly opened.A group of bodyguards in black suits rushed in.
Jack then walked in slowly,one hand in his pocket and stopped in front of Wendy.“Wen,come home with me.I’ll forget what you did today.”
Wendy’s heart sank.She underestimated him.She didn’t expect him to come directly to the airport.
She said firmly,“Jack,we are divorcing.We are in the cooling-off period remember?"
Jack smiled lightly,raising his eyebrows.“Wen,you’re so naïve.Do you have a divorce certificate?If not,we are still legally married.”He continued,“Before I get angry,come back with me.”
Wendy didn’t move.“No.”
The cabin became completely silent.No one dared to speak.
