Wendy believed him.But even when the judge entered the courtroom,Jack still didn’t come.
The judge struck the gavel.“Since the plaintiff’s lawyer is absent,the second trial is now closed.No further appeal will be accepted.”
Those words completely broke Wendy.She knelt beside her brother Cedric and apologized.
“Brother,I’m sorry.It’s all my fault.I’m useless.I couldn’t save you.I even harmed you.Hit me if you want.It’s all my fault.”
For two whole years,Wendy forced herself to be strong.She believed there was hope in the second trial.
Jack gave her hope and then crushed it again.Just like before.

Wendy cried for a long time.
Cedric said nothing.He only let her lean on his shoulder.In just two years,the once proud and brilliant man already had white hair at his temples.

Wendy cried so hard she couldn’t say a single word.
Jack always said he loved her deeply.But her body was full of wounds and he never saw them.Yet if Tiara had even the smallest problem,he became extremely anxious.
Wendy knew her brother was right.She really should leave.As she walked out the gate,the sunlight was painfully bright.
