I asked Amy to clean up a storage room, where Luis would live from now on.

I lived in this room for three years in my previous life.

The room was less than 110 square feet, and it could only accommodate a single bed.

I specially opened the window at the end of the bed, so Luis could see the bustling crowd on the square.

He didn't do this for me in my previous life.

With my mother's careful care, my legs gradually recovered.

Luis woke up on the tenth day after I brought him home.

Seeing me, he was shocked.

Then he roared at me, "Ann! Why didn't you save me?"

His voice was hoarse and unpleasant.

I leaned against the door with my crutches, looking aggrieved. "I wanted to do that, but my leg was broken."

Luis swept the cup on the bedside table to the ground, making a loud noise.

"You're lying! You should have saved me! Why didn't you do that?"

I was stunned when I heard his words.

Could it be that he was reborn too?

Seeing my puzzled look, Luis knew that he had said the wrong thing.

He wanted to rush towards me with his fists.

Then he fell to the ground with a thud.

Luis looked at his legs in disbelief.

"What happened to my legs?"

"Have you forgotten? In order to survive, you broke your legs and escaped."

He clenched his hands into fists and kept beating his broken legs.

I took a step back.

Noticing that, Luis stared at me with resentment in his eyes.

He murmured, "No, it shouldn't be like this."

"What should it be like?" I asked.

Gritting his teeth, Luis looked at me and asked word by word, "Why didn't you save me this time? You should have been the one with broken legs and burns. Why are you standing here now? Are you reborn too?"

I pretended not to understand and said in a confused tone, "Luis, what are you talking about? Reborn?"

He looked at me doubtfully.

Amy came upstairs and interrupted our conversation, "Luis, you need to rest well now. Take the medicine."

Luis looked at the medicine and shook his head.

Taking the medicine over, I put it into his mouth while pinching his chin.

"Luis, don't blame me. The doctor said that your condition is very bad now and you must take medicine on time.

"Am I good to you?" I smiled.

Luis was caught off guard and started coughing.

After a while, he reached out to me and asked, "Where's my phone?"

I sneered in my heart.

He was going to ask for help.

"Why do you need your phone? Just tell me what you need, and my mom and I will satisfy you."
