After I Left Him, He Pursued Me AgainChapter 1
At the celebration party, my superstar husband's first love, Julia Brown, received a playful punishment to reenact an on-screen kiss with him.
Without a moment's hesitation, my husband dove into the act, caressing and kissing with abandon.
Their vigorous movements led to an unfortunate tear in Julia's evening gown, revealing an unseemly amount of skin.
As she stood exposed, my husband shielded her in his arms amidst the roaring crowd.
I stepped onto the stage with a shawl in hand, only to be brushed aside by him.
He clung to Julia as if glued, exclaiming, "According to the plot, we should take this interaction to a deeper level!"
Maintaining my smile for the cameras, I remarked, "Sorry, soon-to-be ex, I was out of line. Hurry up and finish. I'll be waiting for you at the courthouse!
"This is live TV, mind the decorum! Two minutes enough?"
A stunned silence fell, with the crew staring at me in confusion.
My husband, Ian Adams, draped his coat over Julia, his face still filled with lingering desire.
The host laughed and commented, "Wow, the acting skills of our best actor and actress are top-notch. So dedicated! That's just acting, and someone actually took it to heart, interfering with the artistic creation!"
Unfazed by the sarcasm, I let out a scornful laugh, thrusting the camera towards Julia's face.
The hickey on her neck was glaringly obvious.
"Such convincing acting must be fueled by true feelings. They couldn't resist each other backstage either. Keep going. I'll get a close-up. It's just a man; no need to sneak around!"
Ian shielded Julia behind him.
I added, with a hint of kindness, "Julia, don't be fickle this time. Ian is now a top star; you won't be able to clean your image if you cheat again."
At the mention of her scandal, the sweetness on Julia's face froze instantly.
Ian turned sour immediately, dropping the live equipment and scolding me, "Morgan, this is normal interaction between actors. Don't stir up trouble!"
I was Ian's agent. We had been secretly married for years, with rumors spreading everywhere. His fans cursed me for not being a good match for him, saying I was clinging to his fame and hindering his career and marriage prospects.
I had never cared about the insults, risking my life to pave the way for his future.
But I was tired at that moment. I was ready to set him free.
