Coroner Zander smiled awkwardly, "It just suddenly came to my mind. You should remind your wife to be careful. It's not easy to be a reporter these days. Safety is the most important thing."

Charlie didn't say anything. He just asked Zander to continue working.

But he seemed unable to stay in the autopsy room any longer and walked out.

Charlie took out his phone and checked it, but there was still no reply from me.

Anger appeared in Charlie's eyes, and his words became harsh.

"How long are you gonna keep doing this? Do you think it's fun to hide from me?"

"Your colleague has already reported about you to the police. Do you really have to make such a big deal?"

"Nora Julian, if you really don't want to live like this anymore, come back and get a divorce!"

After sending the last message, Charlie seemed to have vented his anger, and his expression eased a lot.

I calmly looked at the messages he sent me and wanted to reply with an "Okay".

But when my hand touched the phone, it went straight through the screen.

Charlie was fully focused on solving the case. But Yasmin kept calling him to ask him out for dinner.

After declining her three times, he had no more excuses to refuse. So, he went on the date.

As soon as Yasmin saw him, her eyes were filled with love. "Charlie, I've thought it through after what happened last time. It's okay if you don't want a divorce. We'll always be best friends, okay?"

Seeing that she had thought it through, Charlie replied with a smile, "Okay, you will always be my best friend."

The smile on his face hurt my eyes badly.

After dinner, Yasmin insisted on going to the movies. "You have rejected me several times. Can't you accompany me wholeheartedly this time? When I was falsely accused and imprisoned before, I wanted to be with you so much..."

"Okay, I'll go. What movie do you want to watch?"

Every time she brought that up, Charlie would always agree to anything she wanted unconditionally.

Yasmin also knew that and used it often.

They had just walked into the cinema with popcorn and Cokes when a stranger called Charlie.

He glanced at the incoming call notification, hesitating whether to answer it.

Yasmin took the initiative to hang up the phone. "You agreed to accompany me wholeheartedly today."

As soon as she finished speaking, the stranger called again.

But Yasmin hung up again.

"Charlie, why don't you turn off your phone?"
