"Then divorce her. You marred her to save me, remember? If she hadn't fabricated those things to send me to jail, we would have been married now."

Yasmin’s words hit me hard.

I stared at Charlie in a daze.

Charlie sighed helplessly, "But I did marry her, so I should take responsibility for her."

"What's so good about her? You've been out for so many days. Has she ever called you? She doesn't care about you at all."

Yasmin cried and accused me. Charlie pursed his lips and said nothing. I could tell he was a bit upset.

"She'll contact me when she comes around."

Charlie didn't stay with Yasmin for long. He consoled her with a few words and then left.

After he left Yasmin, Charlie seemed to realize something because of Yasmin's words and called me several times in a row.

But as expected, none of the calls went through.

His brows were tainted with a hint of anger as he sent me the messages.

"How long are you gonna keep being mad?"

"You did something wrong. When can you be reasonable?"

"Charlie, I'm right beside you." I thought.

The next day, Charlie woke up and checked his phone, but there was still no reply from me.

He pursed his lips and was about to send something to me when he received a call from the bureau.

He drove quickly to the bureau.

As soon as Charlie walked in, he saw a woman saying something anxiously in the hall.

Kyle saw him coming and walked towards him. "Go have a look. This woman said she came to report someone missing."

"What does that have to do with me?"

Kyle paused and said, "The missing person she reported was your wife, Nora Julian."

"That's impossible." Charlie blurted out without even thinking.

My colleague Ashley Dean saw Charlie and hurried over. She had attended our wedding and recognized my husband.

"You are Nora's husband, right? Do you have any news about her?" Ashley asked anxiously, "Nora told me to call the police if she didn't contact me for three days, but the police didn't believe me. Please tell them..."

Charlie's cold face showed some disdain, and he said frankly, "She has been mad at me recently. Maybe she deliberately hie herself just to make us worry about her. If we leave her alone, she will come back herself."

Ashley was skeptical. "Really?"

"Yeah. If she contacts you, please tell her that she doesn't have to come home if she runs away like this again."
