At a family gathering, I stood aside and watched Ethan and Linda holding hands and being affectionate.

It was always she and Ethan to appear in public.

I could only complain to my mom at home.

Others all knew that I was Ethan's girlfriend, but I was never the one by his side.

While Ethan and I were in a daze, Linda sobbed with tearful eyes, "It hurts."

"No matter what, it's wrong for you to hit Linda."

"I will ask Linda apologize to your mom, but you have to apologize to Linda."

When Ethan saw Linda, his tone was unquestionable.

"What if I don't?"

"Julissa, don't go too far."

"I won't possibly apologize."

As soon as I finished my words, Linda, who was crying and sitting on the ground, suddenly stood up and slapped me.

I lost my footing and felt like someone kicked me.

When I fell to the ground, I subconsciously protected the frame in my arms.

Then, I got hit a few more times until Linda ran out of strength.

"How dare you hit me? Few people dare hit me."

I felt pain in my body. When I saw the high heels Linda was wearing, I knew that I must have several bruises.

"Don't pretend to be hurt. Linda is weak. It doesn't hurt when she hits you."

Seeing me lying on the ground, Ethan was impatient.

He glanced at the frame in my arms and felt annoyed. "It's because of the photo. Since Linda wanted to see it, why didn't show it to her?"

As he said that, Ethan kicked the frame, and I couldn't stop her.

I could only watch as she broke the frame.

The glasses were scattered all over the ground.

"Why is it broken?"

Linda looked innocent. "I didn't do that on purpose."

Ethan frowned and looked at the frame in deep thought.

And I just felt my mind go blank.

"OK, we're even. I'll make arrangements to hold another wedding. And regarding your mom's illness, I've invited the best doctors abroad."

"If she is sick, they will cure her. If she is not sick, you can't hide it. You know I hate people lying to me."

"Stay at home and behave yourself. Don't make trouble."

"Come to me when you realize your mistakes. Have you heard me?"

Ethan took Linda's hand and ordered me.

"Mom, here is not our home. We have to go," I muttered.

I ignored Ethan's words and wanted to pick up the frame on the ground.

At this moment, Ethan was shocked.

He looked at the photo in the frame in disbelief, his lips trembling. "Has your mom died?"
