When Jocelyn woke up, it was dark.
She walked around outside, looking around from time to time.
What was she looking for?
Konner came over with documents. "Jocelyn, hasn't Theresa come yet? Can you give her a call?"
"It's best if she doesn't come. I have to go to work."
This time, Konner held Jocelyn arm.
He looked so serious that Jocelyn had to call me.
There came the prompt voice. "Sorry! The subscriber you dialed is power off."
Jocelyn looked up at Konner.
"I told you she would only cause me trouble. She has turned off her phone and refused to answer my call. She is just blaming me for not replying to her messages. She'd better never turn on her phone."
Yes, my phone would never turn on again.
"By the way, it's been four days. Has no one claimed the body yet?"
Konner shook his head. "Not yet."
"What on earth is her mother doing? Hasn't the family noticed that their child is missing? Forget it. I'll go and paint the portrait."
Jocelyn went in hurriedly.
Jocelyn, my family is you.
About two hours later, Konner rushed in.
Jocelyn was so scared that the pencil in her hand broke.
"You scared me. What happened?"
Jocelyn's painting finally made a breakthrough.
Jocelyn drew my other eye.
She was awesome.
"Did you get through to Theresa on the phone?"
"No, what's wrong?"
"Come out with me. Someone wants to see you."
Jocelyn followed Konner out, and the person outside the door was Sharon Cook, my teacher.
Sharon was kind to me.
She was brought to me by a forensic expert.
She came to see me.
Soon, Jocelyn and Konner arrived.
"Ms. Cook, why are you here? Did Theresa do something wrong at school again?"
Jocelyn was furious. "When will Theresa stop causing trouble for me?"
With that, Jocelyn called me again.
This time, the call went through.
"Theresa, you have three minutes to get over to the police station. Ms. Cook is here. Can you please stop causing trouble for me? You are so..."
Jocelyn was interrupted by someone on the other end of the line.
"Hello, I am Walker Lawson, a policeman. May I ask what your relationship with Theresa is?"
Jocelyn stared at the phone. Then, she went outside after hanging up.
"Walker, what are you doing? How could you have Theresa's phone?"
"Jocelyn? Is Theresa your sister?"
"Yes, what did she do? Was she detained?"
Walker pressed his lips and stood up. "I found this phone at the crime scene. I just turned it on."
Jocelyn clenched her fist and slammed it on the table.
