In just two minutes, I received a message. It was a photo.
There were only two people's silhouettes in the photo, one of whom was Rodney, my boyfriend. His watch was the birthday gift I gave him last year.
The other one was Macey, Rodney's stepsister. They were kissing in the photo.
When Macey was in college, she and her boyfriend worked as singers in a bar. She had a fight with Rodney over this, and she didn't come back for many years.
I thought that they were just brother and sister.
Therefore, when she showed up last year in a bad state and dared not to go home, I took her to Rodney's and my apartment and took good care of her.
In order to be with Rodney, I tried my best, hoping that Macey could go home.
I didn't expect her to intervene in the relationship between Rodney and me again and again.
I deleted the only message from Rodney.
My parents dropped me off at the door of my house and ran into Rodney, who was about to go out.
"Cecilia, are you OK? I'm just about to pick you up."
I looked at the cartoon Band-Aid on his finger and said calmly, "I'm OK."
My parents were furious and confronted Rodney for a long time. Rodney kept looking at me, but this time, I remained silent and watched him being scolded by my parents.
When I had recovered a lot, my parents left after half a month.
I returned to the institution the next day. I was a tutor at an educational institution.
I had just finished tutoring one of my students when I heard my phone ringing.
I quietly walked out the door with my phone in hand and picked up the phone.
"Cecilia, where's my car?"
I frowned. Rodney and I each had a car.
After I had a car accident, my car was taken for repair. Rodney's car was bought by my parents.
There was nothing wrong with me driving my car.
However, his words implied that the car should belong to him.
"I drove it. My car is being repaired. Think of a solution yourself in the next few days."
I was about to hang up the phone, but Rodney said, "How about you drive the car to my company at noon? I'll pick you up these few days.”
I was about to refuse when George Collins, the principal of the institution, came over and called my name.
So, I hung up the phone in a hurry.
"Cecilia, your abilities are obvious to all. The institution will have one more partner. The branch in the city nearby needs you."
