Making Compromises for LoveChapter 1
After our daughter finished the SAT, my husband set aside his work for the first time and booked the tickets to travel abroad with us immediately.
However, on the way to the airport, he answered a phone call and left us on the freeway without hesitation.
In the dim light of the night, an out-of-control truck suddenly crashed into me and my daughter.
My daughter pushed me away, and she was sent flying!
When she was in the hospital for emergency treatment, there was no blood of that type in the blood bank since my daughter had rare blood.
It was such an emergency, but my husband, who had the same blood type as my daughter, couldn't be reached!
Finally, the twentieth call to my husband was answered.
His childhood sweetheart was making small groaning noises with a sweet smile and asked me.
"Darrell is busy right now... with serious business. What's the matter?"
I had no time to care about what she meant about the serious business. I just shouted at her anxiously.
"Give him the phone. My daughter's life is in danger. Tell him to hurry over and give my daughter a blood transfusion as soon as possible!"
My husband's hoarse rebuke immediately came from the phone.
"You liar, stop it! Don't go too far!"
After that, he hung up the phone. When I called again, his phone was turned off.
Just like that, my daughter left the world on the day when she just finished the exams of going to the college!
——
"The patient's abdomen is bleeding heavily. It's an emergency. Didn't you say that her father has the same type of blood? Call him over right now!"
The surgeon came out of the operating room anxiously with heavy sweat on his forehead.
"Now there's no such rare blood reserves in all the blood bank in the whole city, and the only donor who has registered is still abroad. The patient has a sign of shock. If she can't get a blood transfusion in time within two hours, there will be no way to save her!"
Two hours?
I felt like my world was collapsed!
But I had to calm down. I trembled and pleaded with the doctor.
"Doctor, please stabilize my daughter's condition! I'll go find her father right now. I'll definitely save her!"
Actually, I was not sure about it.
My legs, which were covered with bruises, were so weak that I couldn't stand steadily at the moment, but I wouldn't give up. I squatted by the wall and called Darrell Terry, but failed to make it through.
